Scholarly communication is far from optimal, costing academics their time, integrity, mental health, and jobs. The solution is Open Science, but hyper-competition between academics keeps us locked into maintaining the status quo. To address this, I'm developing a grassroots movement to catalyse collective action in the academic community: Project Free Our Knowledge.
To date, I've presented the project ideas at the Donders Sessions and the 2018 UQ Open Science Conference, and will be launching the project at SIPS 2019. You can donate to the project here, tweet @projectFOK, or email me.
